As a Christian teacher and pastor (retired) , I have always wanted to know how my historical, cultural , economic, and world affairs experience of nearly 50 years would impinge on Jesus' command to pray for our enemies. I have always been troubled about this. Just how, when, with what circumstances did Jesus mean . Was he just thinking of local Roman held Jewish territory or was he thinking globally? After going over this, I decided to list how I would do this domestically and internationally. First, Domestically: I pray for all gang members of every ethnic, religious and cultural background to be convicted and converted to Christianity. I pray for the same for all power brokers in our nation including politicians, bankers, corporation leaders. I pray for every federal, state and local leader who has power over people to ensure our civil liberties, our Constitutional rights, our right to innovation, means of production, and profit legally. I pray the same for border protection. I pray that our military protects us without being PC. I pray the same for all teachers who will teach the truth and not PC nonsense. I pray the same for the media in America. And yes, some of these are my domestic enemies. I pray the same for all liberal secular humanist socialist pacifists , especially all Democrats who are not Christian. I pray that every law breaker repent and then , if they will, allow themselves to pay the full payement of justice. Internationally: I pray that every Islamofascist be convicted and converted to Christianity . Every nation with radical Muslims in control, all UN dictatorships and other Third World tyrants. I pray for the conversion of all European pagans and that they return to the ideals of the Reformation. I pray that our faux Messiah actually be the Christian he says he is and that he will renounce his socialist pacifist views which are remaking America and its position in the internation global system. I pray that China, Russia, N.Korea and all other tyrannical systems be dropped and freedom , responsibility and liberty be taken as a new step to protecting their own citizens and being civil international partners. There , I have prayed for my enemies.
