When I was a kid, Al Jolson made a comeback. He sang, 'California , Here I come.' In 1962, I came to the Golden State from Fla., NJ and Philly in that order! I saw a picture of palm trees, beaches and the Beach Boys in a recruiter's memo for hiring teachers. I made in my first year, $5,400 with an MA in history. I had taught in Md. and Fla. for lesser monies. But, Ca. was the future, the golden state. If one had taken education, major courses that went through the community college levels, one could be sure that Ca. requirements met all of the 49 other states. I had that. I looked at Goodie Knight, other pols out here as enlightened. We had Pat Brown and his son Jerry too. We had Ronaldus Magnus. Even Nelson Rockefeller a notorious liberal said only Reagan understood real welfare, education, and other reforms. Ca. had a balanced budget; by law by the way. But, now Ca. is complicit in everything that is wrong with socialist welfare states that even given legal rights to illegals. The voters keep electing Dems that keep spending and taxing and when we got rid of Gray Davis, we got Arnold who told us he would go back to really balancing the budget without raising taxes. He gave in quickly to liberal Dem plans. Now we are the highest taxed state. We have over 11 % unemployment. Illegals flood the state hurting our border protection, straining our health care, public education, public safety, and welfare plans for the state. Obama will now try to make a play to BAIL OUT CA. Now, yesterday, when asked by Senator Johanns of Neb.,where, how, why our Constitution did not give Sec. of Treasury or the Admin. legal rights to bail out anyone, take over car or bank corporation, Timmy the tax cheater could not give an answer. There is none. Now, we expect Ca. Dem legislators, who got us into this mess, to ask for a bail out. In fact, the online LA Times says it has already been asked. George Will has had two great columns on this fiasco. Dan Walters of the Sac. Bee has some good insights on this. The voters keep passing bills that would make the state solvent or keep our heritage clean and clear. The State courts keep declaring voter preferences, UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Can you imagine that either the federal 9th Circuit, the most overturned federal lower court to have decisions overturned or some liberal judge continuing to overturn the wishes of your state's voters?? We have experienced that for 40 plus years. Now, Obama will somehow convince the lemmings that vote for him and Dems that he has the right and power to take over Ca. What happens if NY voters do the same to tax hikes that just happened when 5 props in Ca. were turned down? Will BHO take over NY too. And just where does the Constitution give him or Treasury such a right? So cuts for programs will occur unless Obama saves both states. Education, welfare, yep and even border security from the state. Well, what about cuts for all the programs that give Illegals rights they do not deserve and monies, and entrances into schools, hospitals and who knows what? The Left will scream. Gays, feminists, unions, minorities will all wail. I hope the cuts do hurt. I hope that not one tax hike is ever approved again in any of our 50 states. I want to see cuts in every program that gives stuff to people who are not productive. I have worked since I was 12 years old. God has blessed me with jobs to keep my family going and I appreciate it. No pol has ever given me freedom. Except Ronaldus Magnus and that was because he rebuilt the military from the Carter horror years. I want to see Ca. cut it all and tell the pols, no more taxes and stop passing legislation which is just pork, payback to its unions, lobbying groups. Walters and Will have written of this. I hope the dumbed down lemmings who keep electing Dems see those columns. And I want someone to challenge the Constitutional right of anyone who says he can take over a company, fire CEO's, and bail out states. Doesn't anyone remember the 10th Amendment anymore?
